Overview:Starbucks is seeking a
Senior Python Developer with a strong software engineering background and experience in cloud infrastructure and automation.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about building internal tools, solving complex problems, and working with distributed systems.
Required Skills:
- Programming: Python (strong scripting and automation)
- Platform Engineering: Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform
- Infrastructure as Code & CI/CD: Deep experience in automation, deployment pipelines, and configuration management
- Software Engineering: Strong problem-solving skills and experience building internal tools
- Distributed Systems & Microservices: Hands-on experience with scalable architectures
- Database: SQL & NoSQL (admin and architecture level)
- Monitoring & Diagnostics: Prometheus, Grafana
- Cloud: AWS and/or Azure (IaaS and PaaS)
- Containers & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes
- Agile/Scrum: Comfortable working in Agile environments
Job Duties:
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
- Automate deployments and system administration tasks
- Build internal software tools for platform engineering
- Diagnose and resolve performance issues in distributed systems
- Collaborate in Agile teams to deliver scalable solutions
Minimum Requirements:
- 8+ years in software engineering
- 4+ years in application development
- 4+ years scripting/automation with Python
- 8+ years with automation/configuration tools (Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Puppet)
- 8+ years building CI/CD pipelines
- 6+ years deploying production code using Docker
- Experience with cloud services (AWS/Azure)
- Experience with distributed systems (e.g., Java/Spring Boot, Kafka, Spark)
