18789-1 Components Engineer Level 4, Westford, MA (Secret/Prior Secret)

DESCRIPTION
PSCI is seeking to hire a Staff Component Engineer who will have the opportunity to join a team of highly competent engineering professionals involved in the design, development, and support of Digital and RF/Microwave Products.

The engineer will be responsible for ensuring the electrical components in the modules meet the highest reliability requirements as well as the product life cycle requirements.

Responsibilities include:
  • Researching component termination styles, plastic encapsulation styles and component construction processes.
  • Generation of Vendor Identification Drawings, Source Control Drawings and Altered Item Drawings.
  • Lead component part standardization, part selection.
  • Process change notices in PTC windchill for Part Bill of Materials & maintaining the engineering BOM in accordance with LM processes.
  • Develop component qualification test plans and execute part qualifications with Test houses.
  • Develop component screenings for parts as directed by Parts Management Process plan.
  • Interface with customers to present part changes and impact to hardware.
  • Lead Component Failure Investigations as needed.
  • Participate in qualifying alternate test houses for part finish mitigations & part qualification.
  • Research and determine impact of PCN’s and obsolescence on the programs.
  • Mentoring Junior engineers.
  • Review Parts in Siemens Expedition Library for approvals per PMP guidelines.

Work Schedule: Worker will Telework < 50%
Contractor selected will be required to work 3 days on site, with option to work 1 day remote.
Start date has option to move up if candidate is identified and selected early.

  • Must be US Citizen.
  • Active Secret Clearance or Prior Secret Clearance.
  • 4/10 Work Week.
  • 1st Shift.
  • $85.00/hr.
  • Duration: 10/6/2025-10/5/2026.
  • Non-Exempt.
  • Contract Position.
  • Worker will Telework < 50%.

MANDATORY:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
  • Component Engineering Experience.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Active secret preferred but willing to consider inactive clearance.

    Interim clearance required to start.

DESIRED:
  • 6+ years experience with PTC windchill application for BOM maintenance.
  • 6+ years experience with Siemens Expedition Cockpit.
  • 6+ years experience with RF Component Selection.
  • 6+ years experience with Part qualification & Failure analysis.
  • 6+ years demonstrated knowledge of military standards & automotive electronics standards.
