As an Engineering intern, you will work in one of these disciplines:
Research & Technology:
Research, develop, analyze, design and test company products using engineering and scientific principlesTranslate engineering and scientific concepts from preliminary ideas through product life cycleResearch and develop material and processes that support the translation from abstract concepts to functional products and processesApply knowledge of scientific methods and tools to define and characterize behavior of products, services, and processesIntegrate technical, cost, value, and safety considerations into the product or process definition to comply with customer, regulatory, and company requirementsDocument results in drawings, data sets, reports, specifications, and supporting dataInterface with other members of project or program teams, management, and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions to meet group, organization, and company objectivesMaterials & Process:
Analyze, research, design and develop materials and their related fabrication and application processesDevelop and optimize materials for use in engineering designs and/or application in structures, systems and subsystemsApply principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop metallic, non-metallic and composite material and processing specifications, fabrication and assembly processesDevelop, analyze and apply material properties and design allowables, processing methods and quality engineering specifications and standards.Review and approve engineering drawings and documents for part conformance and assist in resolving part failure analysis for fabrication, assembly and in service problemsApplies knowledge of aerospace mechanical/structural component fabrication and assembly processes and technologies to establish research and development strategies and plansDevelop and mature technologyFacilitate technology implementation in production and provide support to the user communityWeights/Mass Properties:
Utilize 3D Modeling software and Weights applications to compute and document mass property data for an aircraftDevelop aircraft knowledge, including a basic understanding of weight efficient designWork within an Integrated Product TeamApply knowledge of inertia and flight loads, materials and processes, standards, and manufacturing techniques There are multiple opportunities in each area listed above.
