The Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) Engineering Discipline is an exciting and challenging environment where you will have the opportunity to design, develop and test to shape innovative solutions for our customers.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on an effectors project pertinent to the systems lifecycle.
This role is 100% on-site at our Woburn, MA campus.
This position can be a Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Post Graduate Technical Intern based on the candidate's qualifications and standing as outlined below:
+ (Sophomore Technical Intern) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program and classified as a sophomore by start of internship
+ (Junior Technical Intern) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program and classified as a Junior by start of internship
+ (Senior Technical Intern) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program and classified as a Senior by start of internship
+ (Post-Graduate Technical Intern) - must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a graduate degree program (in degree fields listed in Qualifications You Must Have) by start of internship
**What You Will Do**
In this role, you will support the following types of activities:
+ Core Systems Engineering: Update, develop, maintain, and improve requirements, concepts of operations, and define system interfaces.
+ Testing Efforts: Develop and implement test plans, procedures, integration, and verification documentation in both simulated and real-world environments and perform/execute the testing
+ Troubleshoot and Analyze: Identify and resolve hardware, software, and system issues through detailed data analysis and debugging.
+ Drive Performance: Collaborate across functions to drive performance improvements and resolve system issues.
+ Integrate Systems: Integrate hardware and software into tactical systems, evaluating their functionality and impact.
+ Decision analysis & Resolution: Conduct trade studies and present results to stakeholders.
+ Collaborate and work with disciplinary team to achieve seamless integration and system functionality.
+ Document and Communicate: Develop integration documentation, execute plans, analyze data, verify requirements and effectively communicate results to leadership and stakeholders.
+ Perform Data Analysis: Conduct statistical and numerical analysis test data to ensure optimal system performance and verify requirements.
+ Present Findings: Present technical findings and solutions to leadership and customers.
+ Support Missions: Travel as needed to support mission execution at various locations including local RTX facilities, test sites, vendor facilities, and customer locations.
**Qualifications You Must Have**
+ This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their _sophomore_ year by the start of summer 2026
+ Experience with systems software, systems hardware, systems requirements, systems integration, and/or systems test.
+ Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain and maintain program access as required.
**Qualifications We Prefer**
+ Experience in the Defense Industry, and specifically with military systems; tactics, techniques, and procedures, as well as Department of Defense customer infrastructure experience.
+ Experience with DOORS, Rhapsody, Cameo, or other digital engineering tools.
+ Experience with model-based engineering and associated tools
+ Experience in developing and managing requirements.
+ Experience developing both scripts and functions with MATLAB.
+ Experience with performing performance analysis and presenting analytical and technical material
+ Experience with generating technical documentation, such as trade studies, test plans, procedures, or technical reports.
+ Experience working in an integration lab, test facility, or in the field, supporting integration and/or verification.
+ Experience with evaluating systems using simulated environments.
+ Experience interfacing with internal and external customers
+ Understanding of the Systems Engineering Product Cycle

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD.
The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
