**Job Title: 2nd Shift CNC Machinist**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a skilled 2nd Shift CNC Machinist for direct hire to join a large machine shop in the racing department located in Costa Mesa, CA.
The role involves setting up and operating 5 Axis CNC machines, specifically Heidenhain and Mazatrol, to produce high-end engine racing development parts with tight tolerances.

**Responsibilities**
+ Set up and operate 5 Axis CNC milling machines using Heidenhain or Mazatrol controls.
+ Perform part inspection using manual measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers.
+ Read and interpret engineering blueprints and take necessary actions with a thorough understanding of GD&T.
+ Apply strong knowledge of cutting tool applications including reamers, end mills, and drills.
+ Provide quality written and verbal communication to Manufacturing Engineering and management.
+ Operate in an automated CNC environment, preparing and proving automated operations.
+ Read, follow, and provide feedback on documented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
**Essential Skills**
+ Minimum of 4 years CNC machinist experience.
+ Experience with 5 Axis milling machines.
+ Competence in using manual measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
+ Strong knowledge of cutting tool applications and precision cutting tool assembly.
+ Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints with advanced GD&T experience.
+ Proficiency in using both inch and metric measuring systems.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Hands-on experience with GF Mikron machinery and/or Heidenhain 530 or 640 controls.
+ Experience in G & M Code programming techniques, preferably Heidenhain or Mazatrol.
+ 5+ years' experience in a dynamic, metric-driven CNC manufacturing environment.
+ Ability to select, retrieve, and run CNC machine programs.

**Job Type & Location**
This is a Permanent position based out of Costa Mesa, California.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $83200.00/yr.
