Job Description
The Department of Neurology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track.
Expertise is required in the specific area of evaluation and management of Parkinson’s disease, related disorders and other movement disorders.
Expertise in botulinum toxin injection and management of neurostimulators is strongly encouraged.
Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree.
Applicants must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology.
Teaching responsibilities may include may include the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows, as well as formal lecture opportunities within the department.
Completion of Fellowship in Movement Disorders is strongly preferred.
Clinical responsibilities may include out-patient consultations and ongoing care of patients with Movement Disorders.
Supervision of residents clinic and a minor component of inpatient care of general neurology patients (approximately 1-2 weeks per year) may be required.
Clinical care will be primarily at Pennsylvania Hospital, but some coverage of satellite clinics in suburban locations may be available.
Opportunities for participation in clinical trials in roles such as site investigator may present themselves.
Research is not required for faculty on the AC Track however the successful candidate may participate in collaborative research publication.
