Adjunct Engineering Instructor (Engineering Design Tools) Job Opening In Mechanicsburg – Now Hiring Messiah University

Position Summary

The Department of Engineering in the School of Science, Engineering and Health at Messiah University invites applications for an adjunct instructor in Engineering faculty position.

Responsibilities The Department of Engineering seeks an adjunct instructor for ENGR 112 Engineering Design Tools.

The focus of the course component requiring adjunct support is focused on engineering problem solving in spreadsheets (Excel).

The instructor will guide students in a project-based learning environment during the second half of the spring semester (March 18-May3) Qualifications Advanced degree or significant experience in engineering and spreadsheet applications.

Candidates must evidence the potential for strong classroom teaching and positive student interaction and mentorship.

The Program Messiah University’s Engineering Department offers ABET accredited Bachelor of Science degrees in Biomedical, Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering.

Furthermore, an ABET accredited Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree with concentrations in Biomedical, Computer, Environmental, and General Engineering is available to students.

In 2023 the University launched a discipline-specific degree in Robotics Engineering; first graduates are anticipated in May 2025 with initial accreditation evaluation to follow.

The Department Our eleven faculty and three full time technicians are highly qualified in their fields, with 90% of the full-time faculty holding a PhD in engineering, from Penn State, Texas A&M, U-Illinois, U-Kansas, U-Michigan, U-Oklahoma, U-Virginia, U-Washington, and Vanderbilt.

More than 220 students work with faculty, staff, and industry volunteers on projects related to clean water access, alternative energy, technical resources for people living with disability, transportation, communications and biomedical instruments and processes supporting partnering organizations in missions and humanitarian service around the world.

The University Messiah University is a Christian university of the liberal and applied arts and sciences and has a student body of over 2,500 undergraduate students including 20.0% under-represented and 2.4% international students from 21 countries and over 700 graduate students including 20.7% of students from under-represented populations.
