In 1957, the County of Westchester bought the 360-acre John Hartford estate in Valhalla and designated 218 acres for the community college.

Job Description: The Westchester Educational Opportunity Center (WEOC), a division of Westchester Community College, is seeking experienced, energetic, innovative, results oriented professionals to join its team.

Located in Yonkers, NY, this non-traditional adult education institution provides tuition-free academic and vocational training to eligible underserved adults seeking to develop basic academic and vocational skills competencies and credentials needed for enrollment in college and/or entry into the workforce.

*RESPONSIBILITIES: *Seeking energetic and engaging Adjunct Faculty to teach Medical Billing and Coding classes.

The incumbent will deliver a curriculum that prepares students to qualify for for employment in entry-level positions such as medical coder/biller, medical biller/customer service representative, medical records clerk/assistant, and insurance claims clerk.

The incumbent will also: * Prepare and update course materials to ensure alignment with current industry standards and certification requirements.

* Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback to students and Program Administrator.

* Foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment that addresses the diverse needs of students.

In addition, the instructor will equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully pass a national billing and coding certification exam.

Successful candidates must demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of a diverse population and work effectively with students who have barriers to employment.

Requirements: *REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: *The successful candidate must possess a minimum of a Master's Degree in the field to be taught from a recognized college or university and 1 year of practical experience.

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication and presentation skills are required.

The successful candidate will have the ability to establish a rapport with students and maintain an environment that supports learning and promotes student retention.

Experience using an LMS is also required.

*PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: *Experience teaching adult learners and at-risk populations strongly preferred.

Highly organized and detail-oriented candidates are also strongly preferred.

Additional Information: *POSITION EFFECTIVE: * Fall 2025 *WORK SCHEDULE: *Classes may be offered day or evening.

*HOURLY RATE OF PAY:* The hourly rate of pay is $93.84.

No benefits.

This position is fully grant funded.
