Cecil College is centrally located in Maryland's most northeastern county, just one half mile from Interstate 95.
It is easily accessible from Philadelphia and Baltimore, as well as from Wilmington, Delaware.
With a diverse student population, Cecil College enrolls approximately 2,500 credit students and 3,400 non-credit students.

JOB SUMMARY: Semester 1/20/26 - 5/11/26 Instructor needed for engineering classes.
Some classes consist of both lecture and lab components, so the instructor is responsible for preparing demonstrations in class and laboratory activities for students.
Classes are delivered in-person in a face-to-face format, so this position requires in-person presence.
The spring semester, during which the classes will be taught, runs from January 20 through May 11.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: * Conduct assigned classes in accordance with the approved master course syllabus and stipulations of the department, , including but not limited to administering a final exam or culminating activity, meeting all assigned class times and submitting attendance and grades as per college processes.
* Utilize the current College course management system.
(Canvas) * Establish, post and maintain at least one-half hour before or after class meetings.
* Adhere to copyright laws provided on the Library site for the college web portal.
* Regularly and routinely check Cecil College email accounts and respond in a timely manner to emails, including those from the department chair, administrative staff and students.
Cecil College email must be used for all email communication with students and any college business.
* Participate in Cecil College Academic Monitoring.
* Submit any Incomplete Grade Contracts to the Administrative Assistants in Academic Programs.
* Support College-wide testing and actively encourage students to participate.
* Participate in course assessment and program reports, as needed.
* Complete required Safe Colleges.
* Support the mission, vision, and values of the College and the policies of the Board of Trustees.
* Act in accordance with the letter and spirit of applicable laws, College policies, rules, and expectations, and the terms of the contract for the current academic year.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK: * Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent graduate credits.
Successful college-level teaching experience strongly preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: * Physical Demands: This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as sedentary work involving lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools.
Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.
Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally, and other sedentary criteria are met.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: * Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office or meeting and training rooms, e.g., use of safe workplace practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire and building safety regulations and traffic signals when driving General Benefits: Cecil College offers part-time employees a wide range of benefits, including accrual of sick and safe leave (1 hour of sick and safe leave accrued for every 30 hours worked); opportunity to open a voluntary retirement account with TIAA or Fidelity; employee paid short term disability based on eligibility guidelines; access to the Fitness Center and library and tuition waiver based on eligibility guidelines.
The Fiscal Year 2026 Credit Adjunct Scale is as follows: 2 semesters of less at Cecil ($830 a credit hour for individuals with less than a Masters+60 or $855 a credit hour for individuals Masters+60 or a Earned Doctorate); More than 2 semesters at Cecil ($855 a credit hour for individuals with less than a Masters+60 or $880 a credit hour for individuals Masters+60 or a Earned Doctorate).
