Job description

PURPOSE:

This is a Non-Tenure Track Adjunct position in the School of Business.

Primary expectations include teaching
undergraduate and graduate Finance courses (as assigned) both in face-to-face and online formats in the School of Business.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Ability to plan and prepare course content and curriculum, utilizing assessment and effective methodologies of instruction for the enhancement of learning aligned with ACBSP standards.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members for the development, implementation and evaluation of the
    curriculum.
  • Provide appropriate classroom and online instruction for students enrolled in business course(s).
  • Maintain expertise in the field of study and teaching pedagogy by attending seminars, workshops and
    classes for self-improvement and/or professional enhancement.
  • Desired discipline-specific teaching with a demonstrated record of teaching effectiveness.
  • Show commitment to the philosophy and outcomes of the School of Business.

    Maintain professional
    development activities.
  • Maintain positive relationships within the University and in the larger community.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous teaching experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and skills related to teaching students in class and online.
  • Exceptional interest in teaching finance and providing mentorship to undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Teaching experience in methodology, curriculum development, evaluation or willingness to plan for
    acquisition of these skills no later than the first year of teaching.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multitask.
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics.
  • The ability to teach in a diverse population of students.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Minimum master's degree in finance or a business-related discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
  • A satisfactory criminal background check.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Light sedentary office work.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
