Summary of Job Duties:

Position: Administrative Specialist II

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff is conducting a search to fill the position of Administrative Specialist II for the School of Agriculture, Fisheries and Humans Sciences: 1890 Cooperative Extension Program Family and Consumer Sciences Department.

The Administrative Specialist II will work under the supervision of the Interim Family and Consumer Sciences Program Leader and assist the Program Outreach Coordinator and acts as a receptionist: general clerical duties i.e. processing paperwork-letters, itineraries, monthly reports, format and create nutrition program forms and templates, submit documentation for staff in workday, requisitions, travel and conference registrations, memos, monitoring leave, et.; filing; ordering supplies; operating and requesting repairs of office equipment, pick-up and delivery of mail; as key operator for copy and fax machine and other duties as assigned.

A responsible, self-directed individual is needed to carry out the duties of Administrative Specialist II within the Family and Consumer Sciences Department.

The Administrative Specialist II is responsible for researching and preparing special reports, examining and verifying documents, and performing general office duties.

This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: A formal education equivalent to a high school diploma, plus five year’s clerical experience; must be able to operate general office equipment.

Applicant must have skills in the use of computer software packages including database and spreadsheet software, such as Microsoft excel and access, word processing skills and be able to use Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, and must be able to exercise good judgment in supervisor’s absence; exercise courtesy and use tact when dealing with the public; and must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with professional staff and stakeholders.

SALARY: Commensurate with qualification and experience.
