About the Team

Our Child and Family Life Team provides developmentally based therapeutic interventions for pediatric patients and families which support coping skills, medical insights and socialization.

By providing psychosocial care to 25+ pediatric units/departments, we serve hundreds of families every day.

Job Summary

Directs and maintains accountability for complex, multi-faceted programs.

Provides administrative support through the appropriate use of software and/or other tools.

Exhibits initiative and knowledge to assure operations carry on in the usual manner in management's absence.

Fully Run the Family Resource Library.

Essential Functions

  • Utilizes the appropriate software applications to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of office workload.

  • Greets and communicates in a manner consistent with caring and respect and follows established policies for confidentiality.

    Answers telephone, takes messages, welcomes visitors and provides/relays information in a manner consistent with hospitality standards.

  • Composes documents and independently formats, types and proofreads correspondence, memos, reports, charts, statistics, meeting minutes, newsletters, etc.

  • Performs/coordinates basic office duties such as sorting/distributing mail, copying, filing, faxing, completing forms, and ordering/maintaining equipment/supplies.

  • Maintains schedule/daily calendar for staff members/rooms/equipment, making independent judgments regarding priorities/rescheduling.

    Arranges for conference/travel, meetings as needed.

  • Collects, compiles, and prepares data for analysis and develops systems that facilitate tracking of data.

    Manipulates data to develop unique reports to meet special requests and reviews reports/data to determine accuracy.

  • Directs and maintains accountability for completion of complex, multi-faceted programs/projects.

  • Qualifications

  • Required Associate's Degree or equivalent specific course work in office administration/secretarial science.

  • 2 years of relevant experience in secretarial/clerical and computer skills.

  • 2 years of relevant experience in administrative projects, program management, hospital/physician office, statistical data collection and analysis.

  • 2 years of relevant experience in working in a high volume service industry in business or accounting, cash handling, data systems, managed care, and Medicare product industry.

  • 2 years of relevant experience in a health care or medical research environment.

    Required

  • 2 years of relevant experience in dealing with the public, preferably in the medical or customer service field.

  • 2 years of relevant experience in database development.

  • 2 years of relevant experience in a clinical setting directing the workload of others, specimen collection and client services.
