Summary of Job Duties:

Responsible for the formal admission procedure for all academic units in the College of Health, Education, and Human Sciences that are nationally accredited and/or have programmatic approval from the respective state agencies.

Duties include the oversight of the application process, data collection, formal review process, documentation of admission decisions, communication to student candidates, and maintenance of all admissions data for national accreditation reporting and review purposes.

The position reports to the Dean of the College of Health, Education, and Human Sciences.


Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Work Experience: Minimum qualifications include a formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus three years’ experience in a clerical field or related area.

Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for part of these requirements.

Preferred Education and/or Work Experience: Associate degree and two years of specialized training in a secretarial field or equivalent experience is preferred.

Knowledge of higher education and accreditation preferred.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Track admissions data for accrediting bodies of all programs.

  • Prepare application materials for admit to all applicable programs

  • Distribute and collect all application materials

  • Create and maintain applicant and admission database

  • Coordinate and schedule admission interviews, when applicable, for applicants

  • Process admission paperwork for all programs –including notarizing responsibilities

  • Correspond with students concerning their admission status by phone/email

  • Prepare application materials for the Director of Advising and Student Support Services for review of materials

  • Prepare application materials to Executive Directors/Directors for the respective programs

  • Other Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    Assist in coordinating campus events related to admissions

    • Maintain CHEHS display monitors

    • Maintain student records, computerized and paper files, records and logs, and retrieve information upon request

    • Other duties as assigned

    Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to foster teamwork and by providing leadership to subordinates.

    Requires consistent on-time attendance.

    Working Relationships: Frequent contact with faculty, current students, potential students, other university personnel and administration

    List Employees Supervised: Assist with student worker supervision.

    This position may require occasional travel to recruiting or advising events at partner community colleges or events.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly exhibits digital dexterity when entering data into computer.

    The employee frequently sits for extended periods of time, and occasionally stands and walks.

    Visual demands include close, relatively detailed vision when focusing on a computer screen.

    This position requires the employee to be on campus Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

    $38,500-$39,500
