As a Developer Experience Engineering Leader, you will:
Drive technical vision and strategy for building, evolving, and scaling distributed infrastructure and platforms that accelerate Apple’s search capabilities—empowering developer teams company-wide to iterate, validate, and deliver best-in-class features, safely and at scale.
Architect robust systems for large-scale experimentation, automated testing, and continuous integration of Search infrastructure, ensuring high reliability, efficiency, and security across products and platforms.
Lead cross-functional collaboration with engineering, AI/ML, product, and executive teams to align platform architecture with Apple’s long-term product roadmap and developer experience goals.
Mentor and inspire technical excellence across the organization, shaping culture, fostering talent development, and establishing best practices for scalable infrastructure and developer productivity.
Deliver impactful results by designing solutions that push the boundaries of performance, efficiency, and quality—ultimately redefining the search experience on a global scale.

**Description**
You will have the opportunity to make a significant, organization-wide impact by:
Tackling and resolving complex technical challenges that shape the future of developer experience at Apple.
Setting strategic direction for the developer experience organization—shaping architectural decisions and long-term vision across products and teams.
Streamlining both inner and outer development loops, enhancing reliability, driving automation, and drastically reducing toil for engineering teams.
Pioneering and implementing advanced validation and testing methodologies to elevate product quality and engineering velocity.
Rolling up your sleeves to tackle the bugs and technical debt that others shy away from—making a real difference where it matters most.

**Minimum Qualifications**

+ Strong coding skills
+ Strong background in computer science: algorithms and data structures
+ Experience with AWS Services such as Amazon S3 EC2 EKS / Kubernetes
+ Excellent interpersonal skills able to work independently as well as in a team
+ Bachelor degree or above in Computer Science or related field

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Demonstrated leadership in optimizing end-to-end developer workflows across both the inner loop (local development) and outer loop (integration, testing, and deployment).
+ Extensive experience designing, implementing, and scaling CI/CD pipelines, automating pre-submit checks, and building high-performance, production-accurate testing infrastructure.
+ Proven success in streamlining release processes, automating manual deployments, and driving improvements in environment stability, reliability, and consistency.
+ Adept at developing tools and frameworks that enhance debugging efficiency, reduce friction for developers, and accelerate product delivery.
+ Deep expertise in root cause analysis of systemic engineering issues, including build failures, flaky tests, and failed deployments, with a track record of implementing long-term, scalable solutions that improve developer velocity and engineering quality.

**Pay & Benefits**
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range.

This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.

The base pay range for this role is between $212,000 and $386,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.

Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
