The Boeing Company is seeking an Air Proprietary 2 Embedded Systems Engineering, Integration, & Test (SEIT) First Line Manager in located in Berkeley, MO.

 This manager will lead a team tasked with overall system design on a large portfolio program.

Here is a phenomenal opportunity to lead and execute development excellence on an exciting, fast-paced, and critically important program in the Boeing Defense, Space, & Security (BDS) Air Dominance (AD) division.

This leader will be responsible for a team of systems engineers embedded in engineering IPTs across the program to lead program-wide systems engineering development, engineering integration, validation and verification planning and execution, external system integration, and system architecture development.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • This position is responsible for leading Systems Engineering, Integration, & Test (SEIT) activities: engineering integration; system architecture development; Requirement, Interface, Behavior, Structure, and Parametrics (RIBS-P) development; verification and validation planning and execution; IPT coordination; trade studies; TPMs.

  • Leads team to execute program plans and achieve program milestones.

  • Empowers Systems Engineers embedded in IPTs to lead best practices in Systems Engineering and engineering integration.

  • Implements cutting-edge Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices across program engineering teams.

  • Manages cost and schedule via Earned Value Management (EVM).

  • Develops and executes new & novel project and process plans, implements policies and procedures, and sets operational goals.

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, direct reports, and other program engineers.

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.

  • Manages, develops, and motivates employees.

  • Drives collaboration strategies across multiple teams.


This position is expected to be 100% onsite .

The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Berkeley, MO.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (US Citizenship Required).

(A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience): 

  • Technical Bachelor's, Master's or a PhD degree (A technical degree is defined as any four-year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study).

  • 5+ years of experience in the defense or aerospace industry.

  • 3+ years of experience leading, mentoring, coaching, and guiding teams.

  • Experience leading Systems Engineering across multiple lifecycle phases.

  • Experience coordinating across multiple engineering disciplines.

  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience): 

  • 5+ years of full-time defense industry experience within Systems or Project Engineering.

  • Earned Value Management (EVM) experience.

  • Experience leading engineering teams on development programs.

  • Experience with verification, validation, and system test.
