ALTERNATIVE TESTING STUDENT SUPPORT/PROCTOR
Casual Worker
Office for Students with Disabilities

Salary Range: $16.50 - $140.00/Hourly (Budgeted salary range $16.50 - $17.50/Hourly)

Work Schedule: Hours to be arranged, on-call; non-exempt classification.

Temporary position ends on/or before June 30, 2026; may be extended.

Essential Functions: The Casual Worker administers standardized tests, class exams/quizzes, and comprehensive exams to students with disabilities.

The incumbents' duties include scheduling exams, reading exam questions to students, collecting exam materials, scanning, and picking up and delivering exams to respective departments.

The Incumbents will apply required procedures for managing testing rooms, verify the count of test materials, be aware of related test security issues, and understand the importance of safeguarding materials at all times; promote good public relations by answering procedural questions and handling complaints; report and document all necessary irregularities; and process paperwork related to exam administration.

Required Qualifications & Experience: Equivalent to two· years of education at an accredited institution of higher education or two years of full-time work experience.

Experience working with students with disabilities.

Must possess legible writing, accurate spelling, and excellent communication skills; and be dependable and punctual.

Incumbent must have the ability to read directions clearly to examinees, complete forms, interact well with students and instructors, apply required procedures for managing testing rooms and related test security issues, verify the count of test materials, understand the importance of safeguarding materials at all times; and promote good public relations by answering procedural questions and handling complaints.

The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU.

Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who may apply for the position.

California State University, Los Angeles, as part of the CSU system, is a State of California Employer.

As such, the University requires all employees upon date of hire to reside in the State of California.

As of January 1, 2022 the prohibits the hiring of employees to perform CSU-related work outside the state of California.

Desired Qualifications: Broad knowledge of academic higher education environment.
