Role Overview
Depending on your experience, interests and business needs, you will own the back-end or full stack design and development of product features, building scale, efficiency, and differentiated customer experiences.

We’re looking for software engineers passionate about building software solutions end-to-end, have strong software development experience delivering at scale solutions, and systems design skills.

You should have a demonstrated ability delivering within a DevOps delivery model from scoping requirements, requirement analysis, design, development, test, CI/CD, security implementation, and operational excellence with the ability to work cross-functionally with Product Managers, business stakeholders and other tech teams through the actual launch of the project.

You should also have experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.

Key job responsibilities

1. Design, develop, and maintain scalable software solutions that meet business requirements and customer needs
2. Lead technical solutions from conception through deployment, including architecture decisions and implementation strategies
3. Participate in full software development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and operations
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Managers, Technical Program Managers, and other engineering teams
5. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to improving team's technical practices
6. Write high-quality, well-tested code following best practices and coding standards
7. Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation
8. Drive operational excellence through monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement

About the team
The Worldwide Pricing and Promotions team is responsible for curating all of the prices and promotions that you see in Amazon stores.

The Pricing team sets all of the Amazon Retail prices that are shipped and sold by Amazon, and also builds tools that make it easier for Selling Partners to set their own prices.

The Promotions team defines all the promotions that Amazon Retail provides for Customers, and builds tools to help Selling Partners grow their businesses through promotions.

We also have a price perception team that is tasked with understanding how customers perceive the prices in our stores, and building features to improve the Customer experience.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
