Application Architect Open Source

Job description

**CTG is seeking to fill an Application Architect – Open Source position for our client.**

**Location:** Remote
**Duration:** 11 months

**Duties:**

+ Design, develop, and implement open-source-based applications and solutions across multiple environments.
+ Lead architecture design reviews, ensure adherence to best practices, and provide technical guidance to development teams.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate open-source solutions with existing systems.
+ Manage application lifecycle, including deployment, patching, and performance monitoring.
+ Ensure security compliance by conducting vulnerability assessments and applying mitigation strategies.
+ Support cloud adoption initiatives and provide expertise in AWS environments.

**Skills (Required):**

+ Skilled in Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS) and Windows Server (2016–2022)
+ Certified in AWS Cloud
+ Experienced with patch management tools (WSUS, SCCM, Red Hat Satellite, Ansible)
+ Proficient in scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python)
+ Knowledgeable in vulnerability scanning (Nessus, Qualys, OpenVAS)
+ Familiar with monitoring tools (Nagios, SCOM, Splunk)

**Skills (Nice to Have):**

+ Experience with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
+ Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD)
+ Knowledge of database administration and optimization (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)

**Experience:**

+ Proven experience as an Application Architect or similar role in open-source environments.
+ Strong background in Linux and Windows server administration, cloud technologies, and automation.
+ Experience implementing security best practices and vulnerability management in enterprise environments.

**Education:**

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $50.00 to $120.00/hour.

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.

In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
