Job Description
A maritime customer in the Spring, TX area is looking for an Application Support Engineer.

This person is being brought on to join a lean but critical team supporting over 20 enterprise applications within this organizations IT department.

This role is hands-on and essential to maintaining uptime and performance for high-usage platforms like Freedom and The Portal (both in house apps).

This Application Engineer will be providing Tier 2/3 support for web-based applications (primarily) and some mobile platforms.

They will be responsible for deploying applications into test and production environments using CI/CD pipelines.

In addition, they will be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining applications built in Java, C#, and Microsoft technologies.

Responsibilities will also include supporting backend systems running on Linux/Unix.

This person will be collaborating with offshore teams to ensure 24/7 coverage and issue resolution.

Some of these applications needing enhancements are used daily by 1000-2000 customers.

This position is looking to pay between 50-60/hr.

Skills and Requirements
5–8 years of hands-on experience in application support

Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix and Microsoft environments

Experience supporting Java and C# applications

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes

Proven ability to support web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, React) Experience in large enterprise environments with complex systems and processes

Strong customer service skills and comfort handling high-volume support requests

Familiarity with Datadog for monitoring and diagnostics

Exposure to IBM Maximo or PTC Windchill platforms
