                         Summary About the Position: The position is located in the Real Estate Division Office, Portland District, US Army Corps of Engineers.
The office is located in downtown Portland, Oregon, near the Willamette River and the city's wide array of parks, museums, historic sites, restaurants, and entertainment venues.
The function of this position is to provide cost appraisals of civil properties in the Portland District.
Responsibilities As Senior Appraiser, performs the full scope of work associated with the more difficult appraisals of real property to include land and improvements.
Analyze market data to include comparable sales and leases, social, economic and physiographic data, which influences real property values.
Make a full field evaluation and inspection of subject and comparable properties as required.
Prepare a review report of each appraisal reviewed, setting forth findings and recommendations.
Review all appraisals, including the most complex ones, made by staff and appraisers.
Testify as expert witness in court action and hearings on appraised property values, highest and best use determinations, economic feasibilities and other related matters.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing appraisals for various types of properties and facilities, including appraisal reviews..
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Arithmetic/Mathematical Reasoning Attention to Detail Decision Making Flexibility Integrity/Honesty Interpersonal Skills Reading Comprehension Self-Management Teamwork Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
One year trial/probationary period may be required.
Direct deposit of pay is required.
