Job description

Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a ASOC Interface and Procedural Control Instructor, Position Description Number D2317000 and is part of the 129th CTS, Robins AFB, Georgia.

This is a full-time, Excepted Permanent, dual status position which requires Air National Guard Membership.

Area of Consideration: Open to all Active Duty Air Force, Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard.

Responsibilities As an ASOC Interface & Procedural Control Instructor, GS-2101-11, you will: This position is located at an Air National Guard (ANG) Air Support Operations Squadron (ASOS).

This is an Air National Guard (ANG)Dual Status Technician position requiring military membership, compatible military skill assignment, and classification.

The primary purpose of this position is to perform duties as a Theater Air Control System (TACS) Procedural Controller Instructor on a diverse and complex range of operations.

The position provides instruction for the following positions: Procedural Controller rated Weapons Director(WD) and Interface Control Technician (ICT).

Administers, schedules, and conducts training to develop, upgrade, and evaluate the skills of assigned personnel.

This position requires paramount knowledge of Air Battle Management techniques and procedures and must possess and maintain the appropriate PC and ICT qualifications and performs duties as a PC and ICT.

Serves as a Procedural Controller and Interface Control Technician Instructor.

Determines appropriate training requirements by analyzing unit training objectives, missions, combat readiness reports, evaluation reports and directives.

Develops local instructional standards, training plans, lesson plans, tests, and other training materials.

Selects instructional media which best supports training objectives.

Establishes, develops, validates and maintains unit computer systems training programs.

Evaluates student academic and positional performance.

Counsels students, evaluates student potential, makes determinations on readiness for evaluation, and recommends military reclassification actions, as appropriate.

Provides remedial training and develops non-traditional instructional techniques to facilitate PC and ICT progress.

Evaluates training program effectiveness.

Performs task analysis, and student load factor analysis in support of the training program and participates in cost analysis of the program.

Manages all technical aspects of datalink interfaces in order to provide an accurate and consolidated air picture in the ASOC.

Serves as the Link Unit Manager.

Assists in the performance of all datalink operations.

As the Subject Matter Expert on all ASOC Tactical Datalink equipment, troubleshoots problems and provides advice on any operational or equipment concerns.

Must be proficient in establishing and initializing crypto and associated radios.

Directs and supervises the resolution of data conflicts and coordinates the entry and exit of units in the tactical interface.

Serves as unit standardization/evaluation evaluator to ensure Combat Mission Readiness (CMR) of crewmembers.

Performs analysis and evaluates crew positions as applicable to determine degree of proficiency and adherence to crew procedures and crew coordination requirements.

Conducts scheduled and unscheduled positional, written, objectivity, and supplemental evaluations/examinations.

Instructs, verifies and certifies the qualifications of individuals nominated for Standardization Evaluation Examines (SEE) upgrade.

Subsequent to crew operations, conducts debriefing and prepares report.

Serve as mission crewmember in the PC or ICT position as appropriate.

Participates crewmember pre-mission coordination briefings to relay appropriate aircrew information to crewmembers prior to executing mission and to ensure complete understanding of air plan operations.

Analyzes the Operational Tasking for Link Operations (OPTASKLINK), Operational Orders (OPORD), Exercise Orders (EXORD),Airspace Coordination Orders (ACO), Air Missile Defense Plan (AMDP), Communications Plan (COMPLAN), Tactical Operational Data(TACOPDAT), Special Instructions (SPINS), and Air Tasking Orders (ATO), extracts pertinent information, and incorporates data into mission execution.

Provides procedural control of assigned aircraft in the Area of Responsibility (AOR).

Locates, identifies, and tracks aircraft assigned for control.

Provides navigational assistance, airspace coordination and flow of air traffic control management to ensure safety of flight requirements for all participants.

Coordinates with external agencies to ensure correct execution of airspace control.

Notifies senior staff and/or Battle Staff of any suspected emergency situation or event and ensures emergency action procedures are accomplished during in-flight and ground emergencies.

Ensures a recognizable air picture is developed and maintained which is utilized to execute close air support operations in an area of operation.

Develops, maintains, and optimizes data displays for use by all internal and external C2 customers.

Interfaces with external agencies i.e., Joint Interface Control Officer (JICO) cell, and designs, develops, configures, and optimizes tactical digital information links to produce a cohesive single integrated air picture to be sent to internal and external C2 customers.

Uses coordinate reference systems.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: Enlisted.

Compatible Military Assignments: AFSC: 1C5X1 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training interpreting, explaining, and/or applying a variety of regulations and procedures.

Experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training arranging or procuring transportation for personnel, cargo or freight.

Experience in non-routine pre and post auditing of freight bills, bills of lading, and personnel transportation vouchers.

Experience coordinating and negotiating with organizations/personnel both orally and in writing to resolve differences/problems.

*For positions requiring supervisory functions; experience which included responsibility for the supervision and management of personnel.

Education Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in fields listed below leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university, meets the GS-5 level requirements.

Education -Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position.
