ASRC Federal is currently seeking a Reference and Research Librarian to join our growing team in the Research Park Triangle area where we support the Environmental Protection Agency on a nationwide program that provides Records Management and Library Sciences services.

Requirements

  • MLS/MLIS and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a library with increasing responsibility over a functional area or role.
  • Ability to pass a government background investigation (Permanent Residency or US Citizenship required).
  • Ability to meet physical demands including full range of arm movement, lifting above the head, sitting at a computer workstation for long periods doing data entry, using a step or regular ladder to reach higher shelves, lifting at least 40 pounds daily, pushing or pulling 160 pounds on a cart, and the abilities to bend, stoop, and kneel.
  • Experience in developing strategies, executing searches, and retrieving results using FON OMS-25-00946 internal and external resources.

    (FON OMS-25-00946 is an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) internal tracking number for an Information Collection Request (ICR).)
  • Familiarity with providing bibliometric services, citation metrics, data and graphical visualizations demonstrating how articles, research or EPA projects have influenced the scientific community.
  • Experience user of EndNote with the ability to provide EndNotes and other library resources.

Responsibilities

  • Developing strategies, executing searches, and retrieving results for patrons/customers.
  • Serve as the front-line professional information provider, working closely with the Supervisory Librarian in the professional dissemination of information and information resource management.
  • Working in a team environment, take on additional duties and responsibilities as needed to ensure successful operation of library services.
