Purpose: Performs mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, hydraulic and pneumatic piping on complete line of food processing equipment.

Works from mechanical and electrical engineering drawings, work instructions, and shop routings to perform tasks.

Ability to operate power tools, fabrication equipment, overhead cranes and forklifts.

Responsible for performing operational testing and ensures that equipment meets test specifications.

Knowledge or experience in gas-fired equipment desirable.

Experience or aptitude in operating and testing Industrial Controls, Variable Frequency Drives, servo-motor controls, cameras and/or laser scanners a plus.

Essential Duties and Percent of Time Spent: Must have mechanical aptitude to perform mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, hydraulic and pneumatic piping functions.

30% Must have knowledge of assembly processes.

Experience using hand tools, measurement tools and fabrication techniques.

Ability to sequence the final assembly of complete machines through the testing process.

30% Must have knowledge to interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.

Capably of using computers to review CAD models, drawings and Bills of Materials.

10% Must be able to effectively communicate within a team environment.

Ability to take oral and written instructions and complete tasks within the defined labor standards.

10% Must adhere to all internal operating procedures and safety policies.

Must maintain acceptable.

housekeeping practices in designated work area.

10% Responsible for quality control.

Adjust as necessary to produce product within specifications.

Reject product outside of specifications 10% Occasional Responsibilities: Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements: Knowledge and Skills: High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Must be able to work within a team environment and interact well with co-workers.

Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.

This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent experience.

Experience: Previous Manufacturing Experience preferred.

Previous Mechanical Working Experience preferred.

Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.

Weld experience preferred but not required.

Supervisory Responsibility: None.

Financial Responsibility: None.

Work Environment: Time is spent in a manufacturing shop environment.

Exposure to possible shop hazards including noise, heavy lifting, machinery, forklift and crane traffic.

Could be exposed to diverse hot and cold climate conditions for extended periods.

Physical Demands: Frequent standing, walking and climbing.

Will be required to lift 50 lbs., push mobile carts and work from a ladder or platform.
