Join our team as: Assistant Controller What You Will Do: Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer or Controller, oversees the operational elements of the accounting and finance functions.
Daily management and supervision staff responsible for revenue management including medical billing and claims and accounts receivable; program cost reimbursement accounting including residential/housing/school and community-based services, general accounting and financial systems integrity, accounts payable, payroll, auditing and financial reporting, and staff providing support to Fred Finch Youth and Family Services, Inc./CARES (FF) accounting function.
This role ensures accurate and timely preparation of financial records and smooth operations across the accounting department.
Shifts Available Full-Time, Exempt.
Schedule TBD Amazing Benefits: 21 PTO Days per year 9 Nationally Observed Holidays 401k matching up to 6% Affordable monthly health care premiums What You Bring to The Table (requirements): Knowledge of: Principles and techniques for collaborating with staff and groups to foster effective teaminteraction.Accounting, auditing, financial analysis and reporting, and budget principles and procedures.Principles and practices of assembling, reconciling, and preparing financial statements and reports.
Methods and techniques of reconciling and balancing financial ledgers, statements, and transactions across multiple financial and payroll systems.Principles of audit and quality control for financial documentation.Applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations as well as industry standards and best practices pertinent to the assigned area of responsibility, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB).Modern equipment and communication tools used for business functions programs, projects, and task coordination, including computers and software programs relevant to work performed.Extremely strong Excel skills that allow for analysis, report building, and reconciliation.
Ability to: Expert ability in managing details while keeping the big picture constantly in mind.Experience working with and managing teams with diverse skill sets and backgrounds.Research, analyze, and evaluate new service delivery methods, procedures, and techniques.Conduct research projects on a wide variety of accounting, financial, and budgetary issues.Evaluate and prepare recommendations for changes to policies and procedures.
Research, interpret, summarize, and clearly present financial and programmatic information and data.
Independently work, set priorities, meet critical deadlines, and follow-up on assignments.In English, communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writingEstablish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with all employees, other agencies, and authorities.
Education and Experience: Education: B.A. Degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or economics from an accredited college or university preferred.
Experience: Five (5) years experience in role supervising and/or overseeing accounting operations, preferably in a nonprofit or public entity.Two (2) years of direct management experience.
