Position Summary:
Under the leadership of the Director for Program Operations and Outreach, the Assistant Director for Curriculum and Instruction is responsible for supporting the effective implementation of credit and non-credit pre-college programs, with a focus on instructional quality, professional development, curriculum review, and research and evaluation for Early College Preparatory Programs (ECPP).
This position supports program development, training initiatives and curriculum design to advance the vision and strategic initiatives for the Center for Pre-College Programs.
Occasional weekend and evening hours are expected.
Essential Functions:
Leading curriculum development and review for program offerings:
-Conducting cyclical curriculum reviews to ensure instructional alignment and academic rigor;
-Collaborating with academic stakeholders to update materials and improve content delivery;
-Organizing feedback loops using student and instructor data to inform revisions.
Supporting program implementation for summer and academic year program offerings:
-Providing guidance on instructional quality, student experience, and academic alignment;
-Collaborating with program managers on implementation strategy, while deferring all logistical planning and coordination to the program managers;
-Assisting with content-related planning and troubleshooting during program delivery.
Leading research and evaluation for ECPP:
-Gathering, analyzing, and reporting on program data;
-Contributing to research publications, presentations, and assessment plans;
-Informing and redesigning program development for ECPP through evidence-based research and continuous evaluation.
Leading professional development and instructional coaching for dual instruction, part-time, and seasonal instructional staff:
-Designing, implementing, and evaluating training modules aligned to CPCP's mission;
-Liaising with faculty from NJIT academic departments to facilitate yearly Option Teacher Sessions with dual enrollment high school teachers;
-Collaborating with different clusters to design effective professional development;
-Facilitating onboarding and ongoing workshops for instructors and coordinators;
-Maintaining digital resource libraries and instructional support materials.
Designing and coordinating ECPP-sponsored competitions and spearheading the planning and coordination of CPCP-hosted competitions.
Engaging in grant-writing and fundraising activities to sustain and expand programming.
Supporting the Director with outreach, recruitment, and enrollment efforts for assigned programs:
-Assisting with relationship building and maintenance with Local Education Agencies (LEAs) and grantors;
-Helping prepare and revise Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with school districts and LEAs.
Supporting CPCP representation within the university and at local, state, and regional levels in the absence of the Director to promote pre-college STEM education and strategic initiatives.
Additional Functions:
-Perform other duties as assigned.
Prerequisite Qualifications:
-Master’s degree in education or related field.
-Minimum five (5) years of experience in program management, curriculum development, classroom teaching, or instructional leadership.
-Experience conducting program research, including analyzing outcomes, identifying best practices, and informing program improvements.
-Strong organizational, strategic planning, writing, and project management skills.
-Experience designing and leading professional development.'
-Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
-Ability to travel to off-campus events.
-At the university’s discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience with STEM education programming and evaluation.
-Familiarity with CRM systems and data-driven decision making.
-Experience working in pre-college or higher education environments.

Salary Information:
In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the negotiated annual salary range for this position is $63,129.05-$113,324.04 (USD).
NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
