**Job Summary**

The Office of Academic and Learning Innovation (ALI) is encouraging applications for The Assistant Director of Program Development position! This position works independently with the Associate Director and Assistant Vice Provost and Executive Director of ALI (AVP & Executive Director) to develop and innovate new digital for-credit and non-credit University of Colorado Boulder courses, certificates, and degree programs.

This position tracks and handles for-credit degree programs pre- and post-launch to allow the Associate Director, AVP, and Executive Director to facilitate the development and launch of new projects.
This role will be responsible for the internal and external communications strategy across multiple modalities: web, print, and social media, and, together with the Assistant Director of Program Design, coordinate campus-wide information sessions, gatherings, and events to publicize our mission.

This may include work on both our MOOC and online offerings as well as our international efforts.
This position ensures that key program development and business operations of the office run smoothly, while also looking for ways to improve ALI's internal processes.

They will also collaborate the Project Manager and Media Design Specialist positions within ALI and may facilitate the hiring and management of additional employees.

**Who We Are**

The Office of Academic and Learning Innovation (ALI) is an agile and responsive unit of CU Boulder Online within the Division of Academic Affairs tasked with designing next generation learning experiences that engage the local and global University of Colorado Boulder community.

Our mission is three-fold: inspire a re-imagination of instruction and learning, expand access to high-quality learning experiences, and transform higher education for the 21st century.

Our work spans innovative on-campus program development, MOOCs, scaled online courses, programs, and degrees, and designing new business and technical processes to support our academic vision.

**What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be**

**Work with the Associate Director and AVP & Executive Director to develop new educational programs**

+ Facilitate the prospecting, developing, and implementing of major academic online initiatives, such as Massive Online For-Credit and Non-Credit Programs.
+ Enable the highest quality and most innovative academic programs.
+ Guide and support faculty, departments, schools, and colleges in developing new programs and innovating their instructing practices to massively scalable or other online environments.
+ Support the AVP & Executive Director in coordinating campus administrative functions as needed to secure program approval and delivering and marketing the best quality courses and degrees.
+ Work with selected technology vendors to facilitate the faculty's teaching needs and course execution.
+ Seek to understand the business, revenue, customer, and marketing models for online education on a variety of available platforms, including their relative benefits.

**Marketing and Communications**

+ Facilitate a communication plan developed with the AVP & Executive Director, Associate Director, and Assistant Director of Program Design capable of explaining the direction and gravity of MOOCs.
+ Work with internal and external marketing and communication channels to promote the launch and significant achievements of ALI initiatives.
+ Organize events aimed at promoting to internal campus collaborators the work and accomplishments of ALI.
+ Maintain the ALI website and the timely publication of all external and internal communications.

**Operations and Internal Processes**

+ Assist senior staff the AVP & Executive Director, Associate Director and Assistant Director of Program Design by maintaining internal documentation directories, generating operational reports, evaluating current operational strategies, and recommending improvements.
+ Facilitate interviewing, recruiting, training, and terminating ALI staff by coordinating with the HR liaisons.
+ Assist with ALI reporting, including ensuring legal contracts with faculty partners and Coursera are drafted, approved, and completed.

Assist with special projects as they arise such as budget models and customer reports.

**Additional Duties as Assigned**

+ Special projects for ALI and ensure their successful execution through completion.
+ Note: this position is flexible and responsive to emergent needs, and additional job responsibilities may organically arise.

**What We Can Offer**

The annual salary range for this full-time position is $78,000-$82,000.

**What We Require**

+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
+ 5+ years of professional, job related experience ideally working with faculty and staff across a variety of departments, schools and colleges in a higher education institution
+ Previous experience creating, teaching and designing online courses

+ Excellent communication and collaboration skills

+ Ability to advocate for innovative program development in scaled, online, and hybrid learning environments
+ Outstanding ability to build and maintain positive relationships with faculty, staff, administrators, and constituents to develop and implement new digital learning products and programs
