Job Summary:
The Providence Center Assistant Manager Peer Support Services provides peer support services, serves as a consumer advocate and provides consumers with information and resources to promote recovery.
The Assistant Manager will provide support to the Manager of Peer Support Services in both consumer and administrative tasks.
The Assistant Manager will assist the program manager with operational functions, (staff training, scheduling, staff development, etc.), and will provide administrative presence and oversight to the Peer Support team when the manager is off or unavailable.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assistant Manager of Peer Support Services will assist with day-to-day operations of the Peer Support Program/Oasis Wellness Center
Assistant Manager of Peer Support Services will be tasked with training/development of new hires and employees.
Keep track of the program census, progress, goals, and will support the manager in data reporting requirements.
Assist Peer Support staff in providing individualized mental health coaching to clients in obtaining their health objectives.
Assist Peer Support staff in managing clients' mental and physical health.
Assist Peer Support staff with supporting clients in learning how to make good choices for themselves and adapting wellness objectives to overcome barriers to treatment success.
Ensures peer members and staff are adhering to rules/program expectations.
Ensures Peer Support Services staff adhere to ethical guidelines and appropriate boundaries.
Any concerns with such will be addressed with manager support.
Works closely with ACT and ICTT teams to engage clients in appropriate services and resources and assist with coordination of care.
Promotes consumer engagement in therapy with clinicians, engagement with psychiatric appointments, compliance with the healthcare registry, involvement and engagement with wellness services and engagement with primary care.
Maintains appropriate professional standards and provides appropriate follow-up for consumers.
Assistant Manager of Peer Support Services will assist with self-help recovery services (WRAP, Pathways to Recovery) and other peer wellness services
Coordinates with ACT and ICTT teams at the Center to expand the reach of wellness/health focused peer support services.
Data reporting to BHDDH and other community partners with the support and guidance of Manager of Peer Support
Maintain full-time hours and participate in all manager required trainings and meetings.
Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements:
Certified Peer Specialist Certification and Community Mental Health worker Certification required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Life experience which can be shared with other consumers.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a peer support setting.
Prior supervisory experience preferred.
Someone who views consumer needs with a high priority and who would be a strong advocate for them with other treatment providers.
Knowledge and experience in accessing community resources (such as; housing, medical, financial).
Someone who espouses a strong desire to help others.
Experience in Behavioral and/or medical health preferred.
Computer experience preferred.
Knowledge of recovery-based concepts.
Use of personal vehicles not required in this position, however, would be beneficial.
If utilized must have valid driver's license and insured auto.
Certified Peer Specialist Certification and Community Mental Health worker Certification required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
