Job description

Job Purpose

The University of Scranton’s Leahy College of Health Sciences invites applications for two (2) tenure-track assistant professor positions to join our growing in-person undergraduate Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) and online graduate Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) programs.

These positions would begin in August 2026.

The Master of Science (M.S.) education program in speech-language pathology (distance education) at The University of Scranton is a Candidate for Accreditation by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, 2200 Research Boulevard, #310, Rockville, MD 20850, 800-498-2071 or 301-296-5700.

Candidacy is a “pre-accreditation” status with the CAA, awarded to developing or emerging programs for a maximum period of 5 years.

- Other responsibilities as outlined in the faculty contract and handbook Additional Skills Required Minimum Education Requirements Applicants should have an earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences & Disorders, Speech/Hearing Science, or a related discipline by August 2026, ASHA Certification (CCC-SLP) with supervision credentials, and eligibility for Commonwealth of Pennsylvania licensure in Speech-Language Pathology.
 

Preferred Education Minimum Job Experience Requirements Candidates in all areas of expertise will be considered.

A commitment to effective teaching, online teaching, scholarship, and evidence-based practice is desired.
