Binghamton University is a top-ranked public university in New York.

As part of an expansion of graduate programs in the health sciences, the State of New York has supported new facilities at the Johnson City Health Sciences Campus, including the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and the neighboring Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

The School is housed in a newly constructed research and education building funded by the State of New York.

The faculty member will join a collaborative research group with expertise in neuromuscular disorders, addiction, cancer, inflammation/inflammatory disorders, drug and biomarker development, pharmacokinetic modeling, and pre-clinical and clinical trials.

Applicants with a proven record of research contributions including publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals and extramural support are desired.

A commitment to departmental teaching and service, diversity and inclusion, and student mentoring is important.

Previous experience in teaching is welcomed, but not required; we are willing to mentor and train engaged and motivated individuals to excel in their teaching.

Salary is commensurate with experience and competitive startup funding is available.

The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is searching for an Assistant Professor-level tenure-track faculty member to contribute to the research, teaching, and service missions of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

We invite applicants with biostatistics, health outcomes, or public health expertise to apply.

Funding will be negotiated to support the development of the successful applicant's scholarly program.

The successful candidate should demonstrate biostatistical or quantitative approaches to health, data science, predictive analytics, or other methodological expertise in quantitative approaches to understanding pharmacy/therapeutics, healthcare, epidemiology/public health, health disparities, and/or human health and disease.

Potential research expertise could include analyses using health care data such as electronic medical records; clinical, clinical trial, biomarker, or genetic datasets; and/or outcomes research including epidemiological or health equity in age-related disorders.

The candidate should possess excellent interpersonal communication skills and a commitment to scholarship and teaching in the pharmacy degree program, and graduate programs in pharmaceutical sciences.

Primary duties and responsibilities include:


+ Develop and sustain a vigorous research program to be supported by external funding

+ Demonstrate a commitment to research excellence and innovation by developing and sustaining a rigorous externally-funded research program that creates new knowledge, processes, tools, or translation to address unmet needs or gaps in the applicant's research field.

+ Deliver high quality teaching, assessment, and course coordination.

Teaching contributions are determined according to the successful applicant's expertise and needs of the school.

Applicants who can deliver a required biostatistics course for PharmD, MS, and PhD students and contribute to one or more of the following courses are preferred: public health and global health problems; population health and study design evaluation; health care delivery; and health outcomes.

+ Provide mentorship to students, including research mentorship of PharmD and graduate students.

+ Demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence through teaching, research and service at the School and University levels, as appropriate.

+ Demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of students, faculty and staff and an inclusive academic environment.


Job Requirements:
Minimum Requirements


+ Doctoral degree in Public Health, Biostatistics, Health Outcomes, or a related field

+ Postdoctoral or faculty experience in biostatistics, public health, health outcomes or a related field.


Preferred Requirements


+ A proven record of research contributions including publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals and extramural support

+ Experience teaching biostatistics, health outcomes, public health or a related topic

+ Experience mentoring undergraduate, pharmacy, or graduate students in independent research projects
