**Job Summary**

The Department of Information Science in the College of Communication, Media, Design and Information at the University of Colorado Boulder (CU Boulder) seeks outstanding candidates for a faculty appointment at the rank of assistant professor with expertise in the study of information and/or technology and environmental justice.

Successful candidates will help craft the future of Information Science, as a Department and as a field.

With a faculty having strengths in both computing and the social sciences, the Department takes a dynamic approach to Information Science, focusing on human interaction with information and technology in all their diverse forms and contexts.
Candidates who employ Indigenous research methods in their scholarship are particularly encouraged to apply.

The Department of Information Science has a faculty with a diversity of backgrounds and interests that constitutes a shared dedication to progressive visions of Information Science.

Our current faculty have training in multiple subject areas that include Art, Business, Cognitive Science, Communication, Computer Science, Computer-Supported Cooperative Work, Data Science, Education, Human-Computer Interaction, Humanities, Informatics, Law, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Media Studies, Philosophy, Psychology, and Science and Technology Studies.
The College of Communication, Media, Design and Information (CMDI) is at the forefront of the revolution in communication, digital technology, and design.

**What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be**

+ We expect the successful candidate to take a strong role in the organizational and intellectual life of the growing department.

The candidate should be prepared to teach and mentor students at all levels and to offer courses that currently exist in our curriculum as well as those that complement and extend our curriculum.

Through their teaching, the successful candidate will also critically examine, challenge, and expand upon traditional information science curricula and pedagogies and build interdisciplinary connections across the college and campus.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000 to $125,000.
