Assistant Professor of Applied Microeconomics Location: Swarthmore College Open Date: Sep 22, 2025 DescriptionThe Department of Economics at Swarthmore College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in applied microeconomics at the assistant professor level, to begin in Fall 2026.
We seek candidates committed to excellence in both undergraduate teaching and scholarly research and who contribute to diverse and inclusive communities.
Successful candidates will be prepared to teach courses in their areas of expertise and throughout the microeconomics and/or econometrics sequences, including at the advanced undergraduate level.
Located in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Swarthmore College is a highly selective liberal arts college whose mission combines academic rigor with social responsibility.
We are a department of active scholars, with 13 tenured or tenure-track faculty, a diverse and engaged student population, and abundant opportunities for collaboration with colleagues and students.
The standard teaching load is 2 courses per semester, with a paid sabbatical every fourth year and generous research support.
