Job Overview

In partnership with the UC Health academic healthcare system and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, College of Medicine’s faculty are transforming the world of medicine every day.

The Department of Internal Medicine is a top-tier department with world-renowned faculty and staff.

 

A full-time Instructor or Assistant Professor level faculty position is available in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine in Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

 This faculty position will specialize in pulmonary critical care or critical care medicine for our growing critical care programs at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and/or West Chester Hospital.

We are seeking candidates with commitment to outstanding patient care delivery and additional complimentary career interests that further support and develop our program including quality improvement, health outcomes, research (clinical or basic) and/or education.

We strongly encourage academic physicians with a research and extramural grants portfolio to apply, and protected time will be provided commensurate with the grants and research portfolio.

Essential Functions

  • Clinical duties will include a minimum number of service (weeks, weekends and nights) in our Medical ICU and Medical Step-Down services at University of Cincinnati Medical Center as well as the FlexICU (a new blended acuity unit intended for short-stay, highly acute patients).

  • Depending on the candidate’s other interests and total clinical commitment, additional clinical time may include outpatient and/or other pulmonary care services across the UC Health Network.

  • Opportunities to receive additional training in clinical research may be available as part of the agreement.

  • This individual will also participate in the teaching of UC medical students, and UC Medical Center residents and fellows.

Minimum Requirements

  • Medical Degree or foreign equivalent.
  • Ohio Medical License by start date.
  • Completion of an ACGME-approved Fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine or Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine with BC/ BE in Critical Care Medicine.
