The school, which enrolled its inaugural PharmD class in 2017, is housed in a state-of-the-art, 105,000 square-foot building dedicated to research and education and located at the University's new Health Sciences Campus.
The school's outstanding pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences leaders use contemporary medication management and innovative research to transform human health locally and globally.
The research and clinically focused school is training the next generations of graduates to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered pharmaceutical care to diverse groups of patients, especially those in underserved rural and geriatric communities.
Our new pharmacy simulations laboratory houses a hospital pharmacy with a 797-compliant sterile room, community pharmacy with a robotic dispenser, patient home setting, and three hospital rooms complete with electrocardiographic/respiratory/hemodynamic monitoring and high-fidelity manikins.
The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).
MS and PhD programs in Pharmaceutical Sciences launched in fall 2022 to further advance the School's translational, clinical and outcomes research within the changing landscape of drug development, pharmacy practice and clinical science.

As part of an expansion of graduate programs in the health sciences, the State of New York has supported new facilities at the Johnson City Health Sciences Campus, including the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and the neighboring Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
The school's basic and translational science laboratories include extensive state-of-the-art equipment and facilities to carry out cutting edge research.
The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is searching for two Assistant Professor-level tenure-track faculty members in Pharmaceutical Sciences to contribute to the research, teaching, and service missions of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
We invite applicants with medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutical, pharmacokinetic, and pharmacological expertise to apply.
The successful applicants may be pharmaceutical science-focused and/or have interdisciplinary expertise across areas such as mechanistic biology with disease relevance, pathophysiological mechanisms, drug development, drug delivery, kinetics, drug target identification/validation, etc.
The specific area of focus is open, but relevance to existing work in the department is preferred (see below).
Extensive facilities for experimental, pre-clinical and clinical pharmacology, are available to support the successful applicants.
The School is housed in a newly constructed research and education building funded by the State of New York.
The faculty member will join a collaborative research group with expertise in aging, neuroscience and addiction, muscle and neuromuscular disorders, cancer, inflammation and inflammatory disorders, cardiac metabolomics, pulmonary hypertension, drug and biomarker development, pharmacokinetic modeling, and pre-clinical and clinical trials.
Applicants with a record of research contributions including publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals and extramural support are desired.
A commitment to departmental teaching and service, diversity and inclusion, and student mentoring is important.
Previous experience in teaching is welcomed, but not required; we are willing to mentor and train engaged and motivated individuals to excel in their teaching.
Salary is commensurate with experience and competitive lab startup funding is available.

*Primary duties and responsibilities include:* * Demonstrate a commitment to research excellence and innovation by developing and sustaining a rigorous externally-funded research program that creates new knowledge, processes, tools, or translation to address unmet needs or gaps in the applicant's research field.
* Demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence, including developing, teaching and assessing didactic and laboratory components in courses within the PharmD, MS and PhD programs (content areas for teaching will be per departmental needs).
* Develop and provide research mentorship for students in PharmD, MS and PhD graduate programs * Demonstrate excellence in interpersonal communication skills and participate in service activities at the Department, School and University levels, as appropriate.
* Demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of students, faculty and staff and actively promote an inclusive academic environment.
Requirements: *Minimum Requirements:* * PhD in a pharmaceutical science related field, MD, or equivalent degree * Post-doctoral research training, post-doctoral industry experience or other research-related post-doctoral or principal investigator experience *Preferred Requirements:* * Experience teaching at the college level in pharmaceutical sciences or a related field * A record of research contributions including publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals and extramural support * Experience mentoring undergraduate, pharmacy, or graduate students in independent research projects Visa sponsorship is available.
