Position Title Assistant Professor of Practice – Audiology

Appointment Type: Full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track
Start Date: Flexible – as early as January 2026, no later than August 2026

Position Overview:
The University of South Dakota (USD) invites applications for a dynamic and student-centered Assistant Professor of Practice in Audiology.

This full-time, 12-month position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a nationally recognized Doctor of Audiology (AuD) program within a collaborative and supportive academic environment.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and oversee clinical education and placements for AuD students.

  • Provide didactic instruction in areas aligned with expertise.

  • Supervise clinical practicum and mentor students in evidence-based practice.

  • Engage in service to the department, college, university, and professional community.

  • Participate in student recruitment and program development initiatives.

  • Qualifications:

  • AuD or PhD in Audiology or a closely related field (ABD considered).


  • ASHA CCC-A and/or ABA Certification (or eligibility).

  • South Dakota Audiology license (or eligibility).

  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience.

  • Preferred experience in audiologic evaluations, hearing aids, and cochlear implants.
