Department
of Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies Education at the University of Georgia invites applications for a position as an Assistant Professor of Science Education to begin August 6.
The position is a tenure-track, academic year appointment based at the Athens campus, with the possibility of summer employment.
Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain a scholarly research, publication, and grant writing recordTeach graduate and undergraduate courses in science educationAdvise graduate students and supervise graduate student researchContribute to the department to maintain programs of excellence in research and teachingProvide service to the department, college, university, profession, and public Additional Requirements
An active record of scholarship and productivity commensurate with experiencePotential for seeking and attracting external fundingAbility to effectively teach in our science teacher preparation programs, which include elementary, middle grades, and secondary teacher preparation, as well as in other courses in
our undergraduate and graduate programs Ability to teach face-to-face and online within the current program curriculum Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification
One or more years of experience teaching in PreK- settingsEvidence that science education is central to researchOne or more years of experience with populations having varied backgrounds and learning preferences Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies Physical Demands Is this a Position of Trust?
