Job Description Summary The University of La Verne’s PsyD program in Clinical Psychology invites applications for one full-time, ten-month, Assistant Professor tenure-track position to begin with the 2026-2027 academic year.

The position is as a core faculty member in our APA-accredited PsyD program in Clinical Psychology.

Specific duties include:

  • Teaching 5 courses per year;

  • Serving as dissertation chair and committee member;

  • Conducting and publishing research;

  • Providing advisement and mentoring;

  • Service on committees in the college and university.

  • Review of applications will begin November 3, 2025 and continue until the position is filled.

    Applicants should submit a cover letter of interest describing their teaching philosophy and research agenda, curriculum vita, representative publications, evidence of teaching experience, and a list of three professional references.

    Selected candidate is expected to obtain licensure in California by tenure.

    Minimum Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology;

  • Completion of, or presently in process of completing an APA-accredited doctoral program and APA-accredited internship;

  • Demonstrated teaching experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Training or expertise in at least one of the following areas: assessment, biological bases of behavior, consultation, evidence-based practice, human development/lifespan;

  • Completed, or presently in the process of completing, post-doctoral hours towards licensure;

  • Applicants who have obtained licensure as a Psychologist;

  • Applicants with graduate teaching experience.
