Position Description:The Departments of Neuroscience and Psychology at DePaul University are pleased to invite applications for a full-time joint tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin September 1, 2026.
The primary appointment will reside in the Department of Neuroscience.
The successful applicant will establish an active independent research program that includes undergraduate students.
Teaching responsibilities will include Introductory Neuroscience and Physiological Psychology courses and an upper-level course in Cognitive Neuroscience.
The candidate will also be asked to develop upper-level courses in their area of expertise along with the opportunity to teach courses in the Liberal Studies Program.
In addition to teaching and research activities, the faculty member will participate in service opportunities while contributing to both the Department of Neuroscience and the Psychology Department.
Dedicated research space and startup funds will be available.

The College of Science and Health is the third largest college at DePaul, enrolling over 3,000 students.

Applicants must hold a PhD and be broadly trained in cognitive neuroscience with a strong commitment to undergraduate education.
Outstanding candidates from any specialization within cognitive neuroscience will be considered.
Research can range from human subjects to invertebrate systems, but a preference is for individuals whose focus is more systems/behavioral as opposed to cellular/molecular.
A preference will be given to candidates with specializations that complement and expand on current areas of expertise in the departments.
Review of applications will begin October 1, 2025 and continue until the position is filled.

Except for the College of Law, DePaul University operates on a quarter system.
Classes in Autumn, Winter, and Spring quarters are 11 weeks in length (including finals week) and Summer courses, in two sessions, are typically 5 weeks in length.
The College of Law operates on the semester system.
Classes in the Fall and Spring semesters are 16 weeks in length (including finals week) and it offers a Summer Session of 7 weeks (including final exams).
