Position Description Summary The home campus for this position is Bloomsburg with the expectation of serving a multi-campus University within the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.
About the Department: The Department of Rehabilitation Sciences offers high quality programs at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate level, preparing graduates for successful careers in allied health, public schools, private practice, and other work settings — to include some of the most sought-after careers in a growing competitive global job market.
The undergraduate and graduate Speech-Language Pathology (M.S.) and Audiology (Au.D.) programs are supported by 12 full-time faculty and clinical staff.
Faculty and staff benefit from our on-campus clinical facilities and research labs.
Faculty-led research is supported though generous internal grants, and our various programs within the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences and the College of Health, Science, and Technology provide excellent opportunities to conduct collaborative research and engagement in interprofessional education.
Our in-house Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic, in addition to our affiliate school district site, offer excellent opportunities for clinical and school-based research.
About the College:The College of Health, Science, and Technology (CoHST) is comprised of the Departments of Biological and Health Sciences; Mathematics, Computer Science, and Digital Forensics; Physical and Environmental Sciences; Physician Associate Studies; Rehabilitation Sciences; and the Breiner School of Nursing.
CoHST offers several bachelors, masters, and doctoral programs.
The health professions programs housed under the college aims to prepare competent and caring health care professionals to serve communities and the health care industry.
Duties Qualifying Experience and Education (Minimum/Preferred) An earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related area and the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology are required prior to start date.
Preferred Qualifications Previous graduate-level teaching experience Record of peer-reviewed publications and presentations Clinical experience Expertise in one or more of the following areas: Swallowing Disorders; Adult Neurogenic Disorders; Voice and Resonance Disorders.
Other areas of expertise may be considered.
