This position is Exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.

**Summary**
This is a full-time, 9-month, on-campus, non-tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Teaching Professor level with 80% teaching and 20% service work distribution in the Department of Nursing.
This position is expected to teach 24 credit hours per academic year and includes responsibilities in the undergraduate programs; advise students; and conduct classroom, clinical, and online teaching.
Faculty also participate in both internal and external professional service activities and demonstrate collaborative interests and collegiality in all aspects of faculty engagement.
The position includes classroom, online, laboratory/simulation, and general clinical teaching in, but not limited to, adult health nursing.
In addition to the 9-month academic year, the faculty has an opportunity to teach these courses during the summer session for additional compensation.
**Essential Functions**
The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
+ Provide instruction to undergraduate students in the classroom, simulation learning center, online and general clinical settings.
Teaching in clinical settings may require 12-hour shifts, evenings, nights, or weekends.
+ Engage in various service activities and events within the department, college, UCCS, the profession of nursing, and the community.
+ Maintain clinical and academic expertise.
+ Select and schedule student learning experiences to achieve desired learning outcomes.
+ Participate in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation; using, but not limited to, using American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) Essentials.
+ Participate in meetings and other activities that advance the mission and goals of the department and college.
+ Other duties as determined by the Dean and Department Chair.

**Qualifications**
Applicants must meet qualifications at the time of hire.
+ To be considered for this role, you must have a Master of Science in Nursing from a program with national accreditation.
+ Must have an active unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Colorado, or ability to obtain by date of hire.
+ Two (2) years of full-time, or equivalent, professional nursing clinical experience is required.
+ Previous teaching experience in undergraduate nursing program or adult learning environments is preferred.
+ Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with clinical partners, colleagues, and students with a wide range of skill levels is preferred.
+ Ability to use collaborative learning techniques and student-centered methods of instruction is preferred.
+ Previous experience with curriculum development and evaluation is preferred.
+ Previous experience with conducting online teaching is preferred.
