**Salary Range or Pay Grade**
$100,000 - $170,000
**Description**
The Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center ( https://www.urag.net ) invites applications for a basic science tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank.
We seek outstanding candidates with PhD and/or MD-PhD degree(s) and at least two years of post-doctoral training, with research interests in mitochondria and metabolism.
Individuals with a clear potential to secure extramural funding for their research program, and who will synergize with the collaborative environment of the Department and the University’s strategic plan, are sought.
The Department has a strong track record as a home for mitochondrial research, and currently houses programs of excellence in the study of mitochondria in cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases and model organisms.
URMC’s Mitochondrial Research Interest Group (MRIG) provides a collaborative forum with weekly meetings for 16 mitochondria-focused labs, and recently hosted a large national mitochondrial conference (TRiMAD 2024).
The Department also has strengths in outcomes and pain research, with considerable research support infrastructure within the Department and in partnership with the Department of Pharmacology & Physiology.
While applicants with research interests in all areas of mitochondrial biology are encouraged to apply, candidates with expertise in cardiovascular medicine, cancer and neuroscience are of particular interest.

Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, experience and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries.
Alignment of clinical incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
