Position Details Title Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Computer Science Appointment Status Tenure Track Department IU Indianapolis Department of Computer Science – Luddy School Location Indianapolis Position Summary The Indiana University Luddy School of Informatics, Computing and Engineering at IU Indianapolis invites applications for multiple open rank tenured or tenure-track assistant, associate or full professor positions in computer science.

Appointment start date is ideally January 1, 2026 or sooner.

Candidates must demonstrate an outstanding scholarly record of research, exhibited by high-impact peer-reviewed publications and a forward-looking, externally funded research agenda as Principal Investigator (PI).

Candidates meeting all the required qualifications may be contacted immediately for inquiry and an interview.

It is possible a preferred candidate may be selected as other applications are still being received.

Research expertise in the following areas of computer science will be considered: Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Robotics, Computer Vision, Cyber security, Cyberphysical Systems, and Quantum Computing.

Candidates with experience in applications to biomedical and health sciences are strongly encouraged to apply.

About the Indiana University Luddy School of Informatics, Computing and Engineering – Indianapolis │
The Indiana University Luddy School of Informatics, Computing and Engineering is the first completely new school in the United States devoted exclusively to Informatics and a range of its subdisciplines.

With its formative national role in creating the nation’s largest Informatics Program on the Bloomington and Indianapolis campuses, the school is the broadest and one of the largest information/computing schools in the U.S. At IU Indianapolis, the school also has strong ties with the health and life sciences in the areas of health data exchange, clinical decision support, consumer health informatics, integrated health information systems, and interactive health information technologies.

The school provides state-of-the-art facilities including fully equipped classrooms, media and gaming labs, human–computer interaction research labs, usability and mobile development labs, ample research facilities, and studios for sound design and interactive media production.

About the Convergent Bioscience and Technology Institute (CBATI) and the Institute of Human Health and Well-Being (H2W)

The Convergent Bioscience and Technology Institute (CBATI) drives interdisciplinary bioscience and technology research and collaboration with industry partners in pursuit of discoveries ranging from wearable and implantable medical devices and sensors to the advanced detection of biomarkers and AI-enabled drug discovery and delivery.

With a goal of quickly delivering IU health and sciences innovations from the bench to bedside, the institute will aim to stimulate substantial growth in the disclosure and licensing of inventions, discoveries and innovations, as well as industry partnerships and IU-launched startup companies.


The Institute of Human Health and Well-Being (H2W) targets health-focused research that integrates digital technologies to meet community needs and improve health outcomes in Indianapolis.

Bringing together faculty, student researchers and thought leaders, H2W addresses key challenges facing human health on an individual and global scale — from using AI and machine learning to detect and monitor obesity and diabetes to pursuing community-engaged research focused on health equity.
