Assistant/Associate/Professor/Clinical and Program Director DNP-Nurse Anesthesia (NA) Program Faculty School of Nursing    Requisition

Assistant/Associate/Professor/Clinical and Program Director 

DNP-Nurse Anesthesia (NA) Program

The School of Nursing at UT Health San Antonio invites doctoral prepared nurses to apply for a faculty position to lead and provide teaching in the BSN to DNP-NA program (CRNA).

Qualified applicants with clinical experience as a CRNA may apply for an academic faculty role with the School of Nursing.

Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimal Requirements

Education

· A PhD, DNAP, or DNP degree.

· Graduate of a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs

Certification/Licensure

· Current Texas RN license.

· Current certification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetist (NBCRNA)

· A Texas Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) is required.

· Active membership in the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.

Experience

· CRNA in a clinical role for a minimum of years

· Administrative and/or leadership experience for a minimum of years

· Minimum of years of academic experience (didactic and clinical)

Essential Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Associate Dean of Graduate Studies the Program Director:

· Curriculum development and oversight

  • Design, implement and revise the curriculum to ensure it meets accreditation standards and prepares students for CRNA certification.
  • Coordinate with faculty to develop and deliver content and design evaluation methods.

  • Stay current with trends in anesthesia practice to inform the curriculum.
  • Faculty Recruitment and Development
  • Recruit, hire and mentor DNP-NA faculty.
  • Provide professional development opportunities for DNP-NA faculty
  • · Student Recruitment, Admissions and Advising

  • Collaborate with the Office of Admissions to recruit a competitive student applicant pool.
  • Advise prospective and current students regarding academic and professional matters.
  • Represent the program at recruitment events, conferences and professional meetings.
  • · Program Assessment and Evaluation

  • Monitor student learning outcomes and program effectiveness
  • Implement improvements based on assessment data.
  • Accreditation
  • Ensure the DNP-NA program meets accreditation standards set by relevant accrediting bodies.
  • Prepare accreditation reports and documentation as required.
  • Clinical Site Coordination
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clinical sites for student rotations.
  • Ensure clinical placements provide adequate learning opportunities to meet educational objectives.
  • Budget Management
  • Provide input to the Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and Associate Dean for Finance and Administration, allocating resources to support educational activities.
  • Community Engagement
  • Represent the DNP-NA program within the institution and professional organizations.
  • Foster relationships with healthcare organizations to enhance clinical opportunities and student placements.
  • Leadership
  • Participate in initiatives to advance nurse anesthesia education and practice.
  • Provide leadership to guide the program in achieving its goals.

    Time Off- A generous leave program offers multiple paid leave options:

    Front-loaded Paid Time Off: to hours ( to days) of Paid Time Off based on years of service, given at the start of each fiscal year.

    PTO may be prorated in year one based on date of hire.

    Extended Illness Bank: hours ( day) accrued per month which can be used for illness or injury after one day of Paid Time Off is taken.

    Paid Family Leave: Up to hours ( weeks) to care for a spouse, child, or parent after months of consecutive employment.

    Holidays: set paid holidays each year plus three floating holidays, which can be used anytime during the fiscal year.
