Position Details

Position Information Position Title Athletics Development - Student Assistant Academic Year 2025-2026 UIW Mission University of the Incarnate Word is a Catholic institution that welcomes to its community persons of diverse backgrounds, in the belief that their respectful interaction advances the discovery of truth, mutual understanding, self-realization, and the common good.

Position Summary The Athletics Development – Student Assistant assists and supports the Cardinals Club development team through event, hospitality, and donor experience support.

The Student Assistant reports to Director of Development – Athletics.

This position is funded by the Federal Work-Study program and is open to UIW students who are approved and eligible to participate in the Federal Work-Study Program.

Essential Functions
  • Assist with the preparation for various special events throughout the year (set up and break down tables/chairs, tents, stock coolers, etc.).

  • Provide excellent customer service to donors and guests at Cardinals Club events, and on gamedays.

  • Support fundraising and donor stewardship initiatives (stuffing mailers, phone calls, checking in guest at events).

  • Directly aid the Director of Development for Athletics with all duties as assigned.

  • Perfom otherd duties as assigned.

  • Punctuality, good attendance.

  • Positive attitude.

  • Appropriate office and gameday attire with a professional demeanor.

  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet.

  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.

  • Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
  • Required Education Current UIW student with a 2.5 GPA (or higher).

    Required Work Experience None.

    Preferred Qualifications Interest in sports, college athletics, hospitality, or event planning.

    Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations None.

    Work Hours
  • Flexible hours available depending on the selected candidate’s schedule.

  • Up to 20 hours per week.

  • Position involves and requires weekend and after-hours availability.
  • Physical Demands Ability to lift up to 50lbs
