About the Role:
The Authorization Coordination Specialist is a pharmacy technician responsible for overseeing the triage of patients and prescriptions, particularly specialty prescriptions.

Your role will facilitate the authorization and reimbursement processes, ensuring that medications are dispensed efficiently.
Location:
Hybrid, Reading PA
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 4:30 PM
Key Responsibilities:
Effectively navigate EMR and dispensing software for seamless prescription processing.

Deliver outstanding customer support by addressing inquiries from patients and healthcare professionals, managing multiple clinics independently.

Conduct benefits investigations by verifying patient information, collaborating with insurance providers, and addressing any discrepancies.

Expertly manage the prior authorization process, gathering necessary documentation and liaising with healthcare providers and insurers to secure medication approvals.

Communicate professionally and succinctly with patients and team members, documenting relevant patient information accurately.

Collaborate as a liaison between patients, pharmacy staff, and healthcare providers to facilitate efficient workflow and effective communication.

Assist in training new staff members, sharing knowledge and skills to foster a collaborative environment.

Ensure continuity within pharmacy processes, adhering to clinical and specialty program guidelines while participating in quality improvement projects.

Stay informed about advancements in the field by participating in ongoing training and education opportunities.

Perform additional duties as assigned to support the team and organizational goals.

Education & Experience:
A minimum of two years of relevant pharmacy experience is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.

Certification as a pharmacy technician from a recognized national organization, like the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), is also preferred.
Required Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.

Strong interpersonal skills to effectively manage patient concerns and collaborate with healthcare providers.

Familiarity with pharmaceutical products and clinical pharmacy services.
