Job Title: Biological Inoculation I (VOP)

Duration: 3 Months+ contract (with possibility of extension)
Job Overview:The Antigen Production Technician plays a critical role in the vaccine manufacturing process by handling and processing embryonated eggs through various stages—from delivery and quality inspection to inoculation and incubation.
This position requires working in a sterile environment, adhering to strict safety and quality protocols, and maintaining high productivity in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload carts of embryonated eggs (up to 800 lbs, moved with two-person teams) from hatchery trucks into the warm holding room.
- Inspect samples of eggs for quality and move approved carts to the Inoculation Load room.
- Remove trays (~5 lbs each) from carts and place them onto conveyors for inoculation.
- Handle trays of inoculated eggs and load them onto incubation carts (136 trays per cart).
- Transport incubation carts (two-person lift) into incubators for the required incubation period.
- Rotate tasks every 20 minutes between loading incubation carts, egg straightening, and egg inspection to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
- Breakdown, clean, and set up equipment before, during, and after production runs.
- Maintain flexibility in work schedule, including weekend, vacation, and overtime shifts as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Push/pull heavy carts (up to 800 lbs) with assistance.
- Lift, bend, twist, squat, and perform repetitive motions throughout 8-10 hour shifts.
- Stand for extended periods, maintaining productivity and attention to detail.
Work Environment & Safety:
- Work in a sterile environment requiring sterile scrubs, hairnets, beard covers, masks, gloves, sleeves, safety glasses, steel toe shoes, and Tyvek suits as required.
- No jewelry, makeup, artificial nails, nail polish, or scented products allowed.
- Required vaccinations include Flu, Menactra, and Yellow Fever due to exposure to active viruses.
Qualifications:
- 0–3 years of experience preferred; on-the-job training provided.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain high quality standards.
- Flexibility and willingness to work varying shifts and schedules.
