Job description

The Department of Medicine, Division of Blood & Marrow Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (BMT-CT) seeks to fill a faculty position for an appointment as Assistant/Associate/Professor in the University Medical Line (UML).

The candidate should have an outstanding record (or potential record) of accomplishment in clinical care, teaching, and a focused area of research activity in multiple myeloma and related plasma cell disorders.

The candidate should have significant clinical and/or translational research.

The candidate will be expected to provide outstanding ambulatory and inpatient clinical care.

The successful applicant should have an MD, or MD/PhD with a subspecialty in Hematology or Oncology.

The candidate is expected to hold or be able to obtain a CA medical license.

Board certification in hematology or oncology is also required.

The predominant criteria for appointment in the Univerity Medical Line are excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

Faculty rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

The expected focus of outpatient clinical activities will be multiple myeloma and related plasma cell dyscrasias.

Clinical expertise in BMT and cellular therapy is needed.

Inpatient responsibilities include management of all patients with hematologic malignancies and a continuum of patients across different indications undergoing cellular therapy.

One of our major missions is teaching and training the next generation.

The candidates will be considered across broad areas of scholarly accomplishments and research expertise, including outcomes research, clinical trials and translational research, with clinical and research focus on multiple myeloma and related disorders.

The expected base pay range for this position is:

Assistant Professor - $275,000 – $289,000
Associate Professor - $301,000 – $361,000
Professor - $380,000 – $447,000

This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank.

It does not include all components of the School of Medicine’s faculty compensation program or pay from participation indepartmental incentive compensation programs.
