We are looking for a Boiler Mechanic interested in a career with a top ranked and growing snack company, to join our Maintenance team at PIM’s Somerset site in New Jersey.


JOB OVERVIEW
+ Assist Boiler Mechanic with the uninterrupted operations of the utilities in the manufacturing plant and office facility.

This includes but not limits itself to installation, repair, upgrade, troubleshooting and product recommendation, of Steam Generation, Compressed Air, Water Treatment, Chilled Water and Refrigeration systems
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Assist with maintaining proper steam pressures, within specs, performing daily water treatment test, and water quality.



+ Assist with maintaining proper compressed air levels throughout facility, including basic equipment service and associated piping and devices.



+ Assist with maintaining and monitoring the Water Treatment room, for proper function and disposal of process fluids.



+ Assist with monitoring and servicing chilled water system, including cooling tower maintenance, pump service and all equipment attached to the system.



+ Assist with the installation, service and repair heating and air conditioning systems.



+ Assist with servicing the curing room utilities, including control valves, monthly filter PM’s, cooling circuit repairs and maintenance inclusive to coil cleaning and replacement.



+ Report food safety and quality issues to Plant management and SQFP

+ Follow PIM Brands GMP rules

+ Monitor fellow employees for adherence to GMP’s.



+ Comply with all applicable standards, policies and procedures dealing with safety and clean workplace requirements.



+ Assist with the inspection and testing of systems to verify compliance with plans and specifications and to detect and locate malfunctions.



+ Repair or replace defective equipment, components and wiring.



+ Assist with testing electric circuits and components for continuity, using testing equipment.



+ Assist with testing equipment after repairs.



+ Assist with following up with requester to isolate problems or to verify that problems have been corrected.



+ Assist with recording and reporting all faults, deficiencies and other unusual occurrences as well as time and materials consumed on work orders.



+ Assist with testing pipe or tubing joints and connections for leaks using gauge or soap and water solutions.



+ Assist with maintaining and adjusting system controls to settings recommended by manufacturer specifications.



+ Assist with laying out and connecting electrical wiring between controls and equipment.



+ Assist with the installation of auxiliary components to heating/cooling equipment, such as expansion and discharge valves, air ducts, pipes, blowers, dampers, flues and stokers according to blueprints and/or verbal instructions.



+ Assist with installing, connecting and adjusting thermostats, humidistats and timers.



+ Assist with generating work orders that address deficiencies in need of correction.



+ Assist with joining pipes or tubing to equipment and to fuel, water or refrigerant source to form circuit.



+ Assist with the assembly, positioning and mounting of heating or cooling equipment.



+ Study blueprints, design specifications and manufacturer's recommendations to ascertain the configuration of equipment and components to ensure proper function.



+ Assist with cutting and drilling holes in floors, roof and walls for installation in accord with GMP and PIM standards.



+ Wrap pipes in insulation.



+ Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe or tubing.



+ Assist with the fabrication, assembly and installation of duct work and chassis parts using portable metal-working tools and welding equipment.



+ Ability to work additional hours and/or shifts as needed.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling and crouching.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools and controls.

Lifting and moving of objects weighing at least 50 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Job will generally be performed in the manufacturing plant.

When on the plant floor it is representative of a large, busy manufacturing operation.

Noisy, active, objects on the floor, constant movement and traffic flow of motorized equipment.

Hair net, beard net, assigned work uniform, protective eye wear and gloves are among the GMP required apparel that must be worn, if indicated, on the plant floor.







Qualifications



EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

+ High School Diploma or GED strongly preferred.



+ Vocational training or on-the-job training in machine operations and metal fabrication is necessary.



+ Must be able to read and follow drawings, blueprints and written specifications.



+ Blue seal refrigeration license required with commitment to pursue Blue seal

+ Math and computer skills are preferred.



+ Expected to be competent in the following areas;

+ - Machinery repair and installation.- Pumps, mixers and mechanical equipment.- General Electric work.- Plumbing, Pipefitting and welding- General maintenance, such as lubrication, painting and fabrication of equipment

+ Ability to read, speak, and write English is required.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $60,000 to $80,000.

+ The PIM Brands Manufacturing Site is located in Somerset, New Jersey

+ The PIM Brands Manufacturing Site is operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

+ This position requires working onsite
