Building Automation Estimator


My client is a Long Island based energy management and Building Automation Contractor.

They are actively seeking an Estimator who can also design and help sell the estimate/bid.

Someone with Building Automation - someone who can consult with clients and work on designing projects directly for an owner or property manager, or equally adept at take offs of plan-spec type work from GCs / mechanical contractors.


Description:


Business Development - Estimator Primary Job Responsibilities: Contribute to profitable revenue growth towards team goals by securing contracts for the products/services offered • Review bid lists and sales publications to identify potential opportunities • Review plans and specifications to qualify potential opportunities • Prepare cost estimates and proposals for qualified opportunities • Perform site walks to develop scope and/or clarify items identified in plans/specs • Coordinate with personnel familiar with existing sites as required to gather information on existing systems • Influence MEP Engineers, contractors, & end users towards products and services • Maintain correspondence with new and existing customers regarding current opportunities • Develop proficiency in sourcing, influencing, collecting bid documents, soliciting vendor quotes, reading/understanding plans and specs, generating proposals, following up, and securing projects • Participate in turnover meetings (lead as required) to inform Engineering/Project team of awarded project details • Handle opportunities directly or as a team depending on the requirements • Develop relationships with existing customers and generate relationships with new customers • Participate in Business Development meetings • Conduct business in professional manner • Participate in ongoing technical and business development training • Perform other duties as assigned • Must be proficient in MS Office products.
