We’re seeking a skilled Facilities Technician to support the maintenance, operation, repair, and improvement of campus buildings, systems, and infrastructure.
This role performs a mix of skilled and semi-skilled work, with a focus on building automation systems (BAS), HVAC, plumbing, and electrical components, while addressing a wide range of facilities-related needs.
As a Facilities Division Employee this position is deemed “essential” and must remain or report to work when classes are delayed or cancelled due to hazardous road or weather conditions, emergency circumstances or for other reasons as determined by operational need.
Key Responsibilities: Service, maintain, and program BAS components (sensors, actuators, VFDs, thermostats, etc.)Support HVAC and pneumatic systems; perform diagnostics and adjustments for system optimizationConduct preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs using CMMS
Perform multi-trade work including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building repairsCollaborate with the campus Network Specialist to maintain the chilled water plant and serve as point of contact in their absence, including after-hours and weekend coverageAssist with event support, snow removal, and emergency response tasksQualifications:Proficiency in at least two trades: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, or mechanical systemsWorking knowledge of BAS software and commercial system componentsAbility to diagnose and resolve mechanical/electrical issues using tools and technical documentationFamiliarity with safety standards, CMMS, and Microsoft OfficeStrong communication skills and teamwork mindsetMust obtain PA Pesticide Applicator Certification (Category 24 – Swimming Pool Management) within 90 days of hire

Three Years of experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC equipment, related to digitally controlled equipment, or Building Automation (BA) Systems which includes at least one year working with industrial or commercial electronic controls and sensors.
ORAn equivalent combination of experience and training which includes at least one year working with industrial or commercial electronic controls or sensors. Special Requirements:
Possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver’s license or equivalent. Preferred Qualifications Successful completion of the HVAC and Building Automation Technician Trainee Program.
