Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Building Engineer to join our esteemed team at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

As a Building Engineer, you will have a significant impact on maintaining our facilities to the highest standards and ensuring flawless operation of all systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct, supervise, and be involved in the installation, operation, maintenance, and fixing of applicable electrical tools, HVAC units, building control systems, and other related systems.

  • Investigate and uphold specialty building electrical and mechanical systems, such as fire suppression, kitchen appliances, drinking fountains, and other relevant equipment.

  • Direct, coordinate, and carry out all preventive maintenance and equipment inspections.

  • Adhere strictly to industry safety practices during all work.

  • Uphold exceptional standards of cleanliness in all work zones, encompassing electrical and mechanical areas, building service workshops, and storage sites.

  • Perform walkthroughs with vendors, engineers, architects, and contractors for cost estimates, and coordinate building repairs, upgrades, or maintenance as directed.

  • Assist with minor plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, and electrical repairs and installations.

  • Research building systems and make recommendations for energy improvements and equipment upgrades to the Facilities Manager.

  • Other Duties

  • Lead and take part in addressing the needs of Bank employees and other building personnel.

  • Request of new supplies and equipment as approved.

  • Consult on various construction projects and may represent the District as an Engineering expert.

  • Keep work areas tidy and adhere to all safety protocols.

  • Address emergency situations within the building and take part in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours emergencies.

  • Support Division and Department development objectives and encourage a teamwork environment.

  • Experience + Traits

  • 5-6 years of related experience.

  • High School or equivalent experience.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret data effectively.

  • Proficiency using personal computers, including Word and Excel.

  • Strong communication skills for presenting information and responding to questions.

  • Preferred Experience

  • Plumbing skills (pipe replacement).

  • HVAC installation skills (VAV and ducting installation).

  • Familiarity with a CMMS program.

  • Base Salary Range: Min: $67,500 - Mid: $87,700 - Max: $107,800 (Location: San Francisco).

    Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
